The league operated an unusual format for 2015-16. All 16 clubs starteed the season in the "Open Division", and played each other once. The top 8 then qualified for the Premier Division (points were not carried forward), and the bottom 8 played in Division One. Hemsworth Elite declined a place in the Premier Division and were replaced by original 9th placed team Brodsworth Welfare reserves.
